2011 Christchurch Earthquake
A magnitude 6.2 earthquake hit 6.8km away, south-east from the city centre of Christchurch, New Zealand. Damage across the city was widespread, resulting in 185 dead and up to 2000 injured. The impacts were worsened by the previous years earthquake which had weakened and damaged buildings, plus the focus of the was close to the surface.
