Thai Political Protests
These fatal protests saw a group known as the National United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship call for Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to dissolve parliament and hold elections 2 years earlier than planned. Negotiations between government and this group failed, resulting in violent confrontations (mostly in Bangkok). The violence saw 6 military personnel killed and at least 80 protesters dead. Injuries numbered at least 2,100.
